CLIENT CONTEXT
Wiley Mentoring Programme Launch Support
With Covid forcing many people to work remotely, and preventing global colleagues from meeting face to face, Wiley decided to accelerate their planned mentoring programme in the hope this would foster ongoing connections. Wiley wanted to ensure a consistent experience for participants and asked North-52 to design the training.
Bespoke series of webinars
Working closely with Wiley on the design, North-52 created a bespoke set of webinars with the global audience in mind.
The initial request was to run a series of webinars to deliver mentor training and mentee orientations. These covered the what and the why of mentoring and walked through the phases of a mentoring partnership.
Part-way through the mentoring, North-52 facilitated a series of group discussions on potential or live "tricky situations" to help mentors navigate these issues.
North-52 then created some tailored workshops entitled "what to do when…" which provided useful, practical tools, techniques and questions. Topics covered were those identified as relevant for that cohort, and included subjects like when "a mentee has low confidence" or when "a mentee gets stuck".
North-52 also conducted a thorough review of the mentoring programme to understand it's impact, find out what was going well and identify any areas of improvement. This review highlighted changes to further improve sustainability and community.
CLIENT FEEDBACK
“At Wiley, our work is academically grounded and we therefore value an evidence-based approach, quality and rigour in all learning and development activities we engage in. North-52 were commissioned to build a series of bespoke webinars for our Marketing Mentorship Program engaging the mentor and mentee community, the first time we had embarked on training both mentors and mentees. The webinars were for our global audience across multiple geographies. Feedback received was exceptional with high satisfaction scores across the board. North-52’s ethos of giving back to society resonates with us. We are pleased that our work with North-52 has enabled one of their partner charities to benefit from top development for their people, aligning with our company mission of 'Unlocking Potential'. We would highly recommend North-52.”
